1. Acceptance of Terms

Vanshaval ("we", "our", or "us") provides this family tree platform subject to your compliance with these Terms of Use ("Terms"). By accessing or using the Vanshaval application, website, and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform.

2. User Accounts & Registration

To access certain features of Vanshaval, you must register for an account. By registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete email, phone, and profile details.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
• Promptly notify us if you discover or suspect any security breaches related to the service.
• Take sole responsibility for any family data, member details, and photos uploaded through your account credentials.

3. Intellectual Property & Content Rights

You retain full ownership of all personal genealogy data, names, dates, text, and photos that you upload to your family tree. Vanshaval does not claim ownership of your family content. However, to render and display your tree, you grant us a limited, secure, non-exclusive license to process, retrieve, and store this content solely to provide the services to you. All intellectual property of the Vanshaval codebase, designs, branding, logos, and layout remains exclusively the property of Vanshaval.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

• Uploading false relationship links, incorrect information, or offensive material.
• Uploading copyright-infringed photographs or documents without permission.
• Using automation, scraping tools, or scripts to harvest family data from other public or shared trees.
• Attempting to bypass security safeguards, reverse-engineering the codebase, or injecting malicious scripts.
• Harassing or impersonating family members, or sharing shared-tree access tokens with unauthorized third-parties.

5. Subscription & Payment Policy

Certain premium features of Vanshaval (e.g., unlimited member additions, PDF exports, advanced scanning) require a paid subscription. Payments are securely processed via our partner, Razorpay. All subscription fees are billed periodically (monthly/annually) and are non-refundable unless specified. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions under Account Settings.

6. Limitation of Liability & Warranty

Vanshaval is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure from external data breach. In no event shall Vanshaval, its founders, or team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from data loss, deletion of trees, or unauthorized account access.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of Vanshaval shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Maharashtra, India.
